How to Train Your Dragon 2 movie review

How to Train Your Dragon 2
by:Diego

(Warning if you haven’t watched this movie and don’t want spoilers, do not read this review. We Warned You.)

Recently, we watched How to Train Your Dragon 2. We thought it was ok but there were some parts that were too much for us.
In the beginning Hiccup, the main character, is riding on his dragon,Toothless, trying some new tricks . But They accidentally fall into new land .Astrid comes by and they find a ship stuck in ice. They are trying to avoid dragon traps that the people on the boat were throwing. When they meet the people on the boat they said they were capturing dragons, for their leader (Drago mc Bloodfist)to attack. But Hiccup and Astrid escaped and warned their village.

Hiccup wanted to reason with them but his father ,the chief refused.Hiccup escaped and found a masked stranger. It turns out that the stranger is his mother in a dragon sanctuary run by a Bewilderbeast .Meanwhile, the chief tries to find hiccup and bring him back. When they find him he see his son and wife. They celebrate for a while until they get attacked by Drago and his dragon army.

When the Bewilderbeast comes out, Drago reveals an alpha that kills it. When the alpha takes control of all the dragons he demands Toothless to destroy Hiccup but gets his father instead. They have his funeral by lighting a ship on fire and set it off to sea.
They go after Drago and find toothless and try to control him . When Hiccup does this the Bewilderbeast traps them in ice. But suddenly toothless comes out glowing and challenges the Bewilderbeast to rule. So the army turns on Drago and defeat him.

T.R.P School Dance Opinions

                                                               T.R.P School Dance
                                                             By Anthony,Amy,Feng

Last Friday we had our back to school dance. Dance tickets cost 3 dollars. In my opinion i think the school dance is a little boring. If the dance was only 1 dollar i might go more often.

Did you go? Yes but Amy didn't

What do you think it is like?  Amy thinks the dance is like dancing, party and food

Why would reducing the price make you want to go? Reducing the price would make me want to go more often because the cheaper it is the more stuff I can buy :)

What would you envision if you we’re to create your own fun school dance? everything in the Question below this

What things can make it fun? Free Tickets, Party Games,

Ask other students for their opinions of what would make the dance fun.
A disco ball[Jennyfer]
More food[Krystal]
Free Food and Drinks and free Tickets[amy]

I think it is not fun  because when you give 3 dollars for the tickets but the food you need to buy,

I think it's not worth it.

It's almost the end of the school year. Summer is where days are sunnier and nights are longer. But it's also sad that the year over cause you wont be able to see your friends that much. Over summer you can also go to the lake or even ambush your best friends with water balloons!! Haha I'll be praying for you. Okay enjoy your summer!

I mean that sounds pretty nice, but you know I'm looking forward to? Sleeping in. I mean just thinking about during science makes me want to pass out. Sorry Mr. Lalata haha. Six Flags Fun

Six Flags Fun
by Diane & Stephanie

On the spirit trip to Six Flags that occurred on Friday of the 16th. Eligible students went to Six Flags and came back around 7: 07 due to traffic (yes I did check). There were many rides on Six Flags, sadly we couldn't go to many of them, due to our lack of knowledge of the rides. We first went on Monsoon Falls which was fun, but I felt like I was falling of a cliff. Then we went on the Thrilla Gorilla which goes very fast around circle. Then we went on Monkey Business which is a very extreme teacup ride. We also went on 2 swinging chair rides, the Sky Screamer and another simple one. We went on the ark which sadly did not go around and after that we went on the scat a bout. The scat a bout was fast and was really fun even though it wasn't scary. We also went on the cobra 2 times because it wasn't scary and it was very fast and fun. Plus, the line was very short. We also went on a kiddy ride which we thought would be scary. It was called lookout balloon. Then lastly we went on a bug's bunny ride which only went once. All of the rides were good, besides some were not that cool. I recommend going to Six Flag's Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo.

My Recent Trip to the Philippines

My Recent Trip to the Philippines

by Marielle

So, I went to the Philippines and I had so much fun. I got to meet my old friends and relative.

First,we went to Manoag (church) because my mom wants to visit the the Virgin Mary and thank her for leading us safe to the Philippines.

Then,we went to my grandma's house to visit her because she was now feeling better not before she was so ill, thank god she was now walking! Actually i slept with her because I missed her so much.

After that we went to a wedding, it was actually not boring as I thought it would be, it was so much laughing and it ended like 2 hours I i know crazy right?!

And finally it was time to go.

I already miss the Philippines.

2 out of 7 students aren't exactly sure what it means to be bullied!

Bullying Assembly @ TRP

by Adrianne

informal Bullying Student Survey

4 out of 7 students, have been bullied

2 out of 7 students, don't know (this surprises me a bit)

1 out of 7 students, haven't

So today I just found out we were having an anti bullying assembly on Friday. I gave this a lot of thought and it made me wonder what bullying actually is. Now you may think, "how do you not know what bullying is?" well just think for a moment. There are different kinds of bullying, but what is the general idea of it? How do you even know if they're bullying you? They can be joking around or something, but we don't know that. When thinking about this kinda makes me wonder if I actually have seen someone being bullied. I've been asking a couple random people if they've been bullied and this is what I got.

Field Dayyyy!!!!!!

Field Day
By Xandria & Adrianne

So, field day, it can be either be joyful or the worst day of your life. Now I mean falling off a scooter on your face in front of everyone during the race. I can imagine it now, my name on a tombstone, date of death: May 9,2014 and the cause....being drowned by water balloons or something like that. However, it's also pretty fun. In my experience, field day was enjoyable to see people fall on their face. No I'm kidding. Really, it's fun, you get to try all sort of different activities at a short amount of time. Like last year, there were water balloons involved, but I didn't get to try it. During field day, There are two activities one in the gym and then you rotate and transfer outside. So that's field day! Don't die!!

The Carnival Comes to Daly City

The Carnival Comes to Daly City
by Stephanie & Diane

There was a carnival at Daly City on the past 3 days. They usually come every year for 3 days, and usually are packed up with lots of fun, colors, and games. They actually have a new ride that is called the '' Freak Out ''. It was pretty scary and was the most frightening one of all. It seemed like a claw ride and was very colorful. Although there was a new ride, there were also the originals too. The Thriller was very very dizzy. It spins around in a circular form which also holds down the gravitational force, making it very hard to move as it pushes you down. I also remember going on the little candy swinging ride last year. they still had it this year, but even though it was a kiddy ride it was VERY scary for me.
One of the carnival originals was the ferris wheel which was pretty fast. The ride that really creeped me out was the Ring of Fire. It was very scary for my friend who says that she felt like she was going to fall off from the top of ride. For me I did not go this year, but my friend did. It was pretty scary last year and I also got a red snow cone which was very beautiful looking with all the red on the ice. My friend actually got a caramel apple, which I really wanted to taste once in my lifetime. The carnival was very fun and entertaining, I hope you could go to the carnival next year! Bye Bye

Chocolate FUNdraiser! by Cathernie

Chocolate  FUNdraiser!
Currently, T. R. Pollicita is having their most important fundraiser! We are selling World’s Finest Chocolate for a $1 each. This fundraiser will help raise the needed money for assemblies and end-of-the-year trips. This also helps the 8th graders’ Grad Dance, which is very much needed for them. So far, student government has collected about $2,000. This amount, right now, is not very good, since we need $4,000. At this point we will probably have no food for the Grad dance. So how are we gonna raise the other $2,000? Duh, all you need to do is sell! Us student government work our butts off, so just help us out with this fundraiser. SO PLEASE SELL AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE !!!!!!!

The chocolate box has a total of 60 bars. That is not hard to sell. All you have to do is just walk around your neighborhood, with a friend or parent, and simply just SELL! And of course the best part of  fundraisers, PRIZES, is included. Every case you sell, you receive a cute, unique frog. There are many different designed frogs, which means you can trade with friends! I find that very fun and cool to do. Two more prizes they will receive, if they sell a case, is 100 Spirit Points and they get to be entered in the drawing for the Benihana Limo/Lunch prize! YUM. there will be 5 winners which is even better! The top seller gets a FREE SPIRIT TRIP TO SIX FLAGS!!!!!! I totally think it’s worth it. Right now, it looks like the student who is getting a free Six Flags trip is A.J. Ramos, who sold 6 boxes. She told me that. There are only 10 boxes left, and we’re trying to get rid of them ASAP. So, PLEASE sell & buy chocolates, since it is for a really good benefit.

New York, Boston mayors back LGBT groups, reject St. Patrick's Day parades

By Stephanie A

The mayors of Boston and New York decided to stay out of the St. Patrick's parade because the parades didn't support LGBT rights. I think the mayors should participate in the parade because they're the head of their cities. Even if they don't agree with what's going on in the parade, they should at least support their city because then others in the city could be upset. If I was the mayor of a large city, I would be part of the parade because if I didn't their could be a bad reaction to my not participating in the parade.

Celebrity of the Week: Lily Collins

Celebrity of the Week: Lily Collins
By Alexxi and Chelsea
Lily Collins recently portrayed Clary Fray in the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones in August 2013. In the movie, she had great fashion wearing the all black shadowhunter gear. She also had a fantastic fashion sense off screen. She’s also a model for Teen Vogue, where she displays the clothes she is modeling perfectly.

Lily has a new boyfriend, the actor Thomas Cocquerel, who has replaced her past boyfriend of one year, Jamie Campbell Bower. Lily and Jamie were co-stars, being the two leading roles of City of Bones. They had romance on and off screen. It was heartbreaking when the two broke up a couple days before the premiere of their movie together. (Jamily forever<3)

It is known that Lily will be starring in Love Rosie with co-star Sam Clafflin, and she’s currently working on the next Mortal Instruments Movie: City of Ashes.

Malaysia Airlines plane crash

Many people were wondering if the plane in Malaysia Airlines disintegrated because of the oil slick and a lifeboat that has moss covered on it. I personally think the plane crashed into the water somewhere. Students from Beijing are sending messages of support to the family members of those on the plane.
